Sleepless
My formerly good sleeper has stopped sleeping. Much. during the day she'll sleep for 30 minutes at a time. At night, anywhere from 1-3 hours. Only nursing her gets her back to sleep, otherwise she screams and thrashes about.
It feels like torture to be sleep deprived, especially when waking up after being deeply asleep. And it's frustrating to know that we were in the good sleep zone, that she could put herself to sleep and sleep for 6 hours at a time - and now, it's crap.
The book I'm reading: "At four months babies should be able to sleep about eight hours at night without a feeding". Screw you Sleep Lady.
So I'm bitching about it because it sucks. And I'm eating chocolate.

You surely deserve that chocolate! But could it be the caffeine from the chocolate leaking into your baby that is keeping her up...?

Ahhh, good times. We had a lot of that, plus eating frequently. Zachary wanted to eat every hour or two. It was shear hell waiting the 4+ hours the Eating Lady said to. Screw you Eating Lady, if he wants food every hour, he's getting it.

I think those sleep experts say insane things like that so you feel like a bad parent who needs to buy more sleep books. I have two boys who have both had sleeping issues. I think they relate more to temperament than any of the sleep books allows for. I mean, if both parents were night owls, and one parent is a habitual insomniac, what are the chances the kids will go down like a log every night? That's my theory at least.
