It doesn't take much to make me smile, especially when I look at our gorgeous new Phil & Ted's Double Sport Buggy. And my kids of course.
My formerly good sleeper has stopped sleeping. Much. during the day she'll sleep for 30 minutes at a time. At night, anywhere from 1-3 hours. Only nursing her gets her back to sleep, otherwise she screams and thrashes about.
It feels like torture to be sleep deprived, especially when waking up after being deeply asleep. And it's frustrating to know that we were in the good sleep zone, that she could put herself to sleep and sleep for 6 hours at a time - and now, it's crap.
The book I'm reading: "At four months babies should be able to sleep about eight hours at night without a feeding". Screw you Sleep Lady.
So I'm bitching about it because it sucks. And I'm eating chocolate.
Scarlett Suzanne Newman Buchanan was born on December 5, in the morning, at home in the water, into her dad and my midwive's loving hands. 8 pounds, 14 ounces, 21 inches and a huge head! She is a sweet and friendly little girl, and so far, a very good sleeper. She's also growing very quickly, already 11+ pounds (and weighed 3 pounds more than Ivy at birth - crazy!)
I will be writing up her birth story but will not post it here. Please email me if you are interested in hearing about our beautiful home birth.
And Ivy is almost 2 years old, I can't beleive how fast it has gone. She is a very good big sister, and is very sweet to her little sister. Hopefully they will grow up to be best friends...
